St. Jude Thaddeus, a cousin of Jesus, was the son of Cleo and Mary of Cleophas. His mother brought him up in piety and innocence, both of which were fostered and increased by the examples of Christ. These examples were before him even in his childhood days, for as a cousin of the Savior, he must have frequently associated with Him.

What the life of St. Jude Thaddeus was up to the time of the call to the apostleship is not known, but this much is certain that when the divine invitation was extended to him, he not only accepted it, but never for a moment did he allow his zeal as an apostolate to cool. It was zeal and zeal alone which eventually brought him to the much coveted reward of martyrdom. He was not only the apostle but also one of the sacred writers. His word is known as the "Epistle of St. Jude". It is remarkable for its strength and dignity. Most of its contents are well adapted to the present time, for the heresies and immoralities of those days are rampant today. He closes his Epistle with admonitions for Christians. It seems also that he was one of the last apostles to die. His feast day is on the 28th of October.

PARISH HISTORY
The couple Romeo & Marietta Liamzon of Rodriguez (formerly Montalban, Rizal), developers of a subdivision in Pasig bearing their names, established a chapel in honor of St. Jude Thaddeus. The ground breaking ceremony was on May 24, 1975 and the complete chapel was blessed on December 30, 1976 by Msgr. Teodoro Perez who predicted that in the future it would be a parish church. The chapel was under the jurisdication of Sto. Rosario Parish until May 8, 1999 when it was erected as a parish comprising the whole Barangay Sta. Lucia with Rev. Fr. Julio Cesar "Chiqui" Manalo as its first parish priest. The decrees were issued by Most Rev. Protacio G. Gungong, D.D., then the bishop of the Antipolo Diocese. The thrusts of the New Parish were the realizations of the several Basic Ecclesial Communities and being the church of the home with the preferential option for the poor and the oppressed. For the best of reasons, the Good Lord beckoned Fr. Chiqui home to Him on early Christmas morning of 2001. His untimely demise was mourned by all of his parishioners, friends and relatives. A Requiem Mass for him was concelebrated by the clergy of Antipolo on December 27, 2001, led by Most Rev. Protacio Gungon, D.D. and the New Bishop of Antipolo, Most Rev. Crisostomo Yalung, Rev. Fr. Marcel Prudente (Fr. Chiqui's close confidante and seminary classmate) was asked to give the homily. Fr. Marcel, after the mass during the clergy fellowship, was appointed by Bishop Yalung to be Fr. Chiqui's successor. Currently the parish is headed by Rev. Fr. Victor "Vic" Virtudazo
